Flower news
November 2022
As I write this, we seem to be stuck in a permanent cycle of wind and rain. The garden is looking well and truly drowned and beaten. However, on a more positive note, the first round of bulbs corms and seeds are all either in the ground or in seed trays-the promise of Spring to come.

October went out with a Cornish dried flower wedding. It was lovely to use all of the dried flowers and grasses from the garden to make the bouquets, buttonholes, table and church arrangements for the wedding of a couple who have roots in Cornish farming and sustainable growing. The arrangements in the church caught the light from the stained-glass windows beautifully and they truly glowed. I cannot wait to see the professional photographs from the wedding. Dried flowers have certainly come a long way from the days of straw flowers and bunny grass. The dried cottage garden flowers and grasses can create such a romantic and timeless aura for a wedding or event.

Business update:
I started this business with the aim of 'Bringing the delight of the cottage garden to your wedding, event, business and home'. That remains my aim although I plan to make some changes to the business.

My focus for 2023 onwards will be on weddings and events, although I will still make bouquets to order. I want to ensure that all of my efforts go into providing top quality, luxury flowers and grasses grown in the cottage and cutting gardens surrounding my home for weddings and events. I also want to give the very best level of personal service and do not want to detract from that.

This means I will not be doing any Christmas wreath workshops or individual orders for Christmas. I have had some enquiries about Christmas orders. I am happy to refer you to others that produce wreaths etc in a sustainable way. I do value the support that you have all given me as I started the business and I am sorry that I cannot fulfil your Christmas orders. I believe this is part of the evolution of the business and having started out trying to be 'all things to all men', I am now clear on the path ahead. I love working with clients to fulfil the flower vision for their weddings and parties and I am very excited for 2023.

Have a great November. I hope the sun shines soon.
